Experimental
Desert Pavilion
Concept & Design
Desert Pavilion is an experimental structure that explores the relationship between architecture and extreme environments. The design responds to the harsh desert climate through passive cooling strategies, including deep overhangs, thermal mass, and natural ventilation systems.
The building appears to emerge from the landscape, with rammed earth walls that blend with the desert terrain. The interior spaces are organized around a central courtyard that provides shade and creates a microclimate. The design incorporates traditional desert architecture principles while utilizing contemporary materials and construction techniques.
